Three weeks ago, I had the honor of being a part of Brooke and Jake’s special day! Words cannot describe how amazing this couple is. I’ve known Brooke for a very long time and we reconnected through a mutual friend in the more recent years. Brooke has always had a huge heart and a warm smile. I’m so glad that she has met the man of her dreams! Brooke and Jake are a match.com success! I met Jake at the rehearsal so I didn’t get much time to get to know him but what I do know is that he loves Brooke with everything he’s got. You can just see it in his eyes.
I’m so thankful to have had Brooke and Jake as my first bride and groom. It means the world to me that they trusted me to capture their wedding day. Here are a few of my favorite images.
The floral arrangement from V.S. Flowers in Douglas, Michigan were BEAUTIFUL!
Excuse me…which leg does this thing go on?!
The first look before the ceremony.
Just as we went outside for some photos it started to sprinkle. Rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?! These were taken right outside Faith Reformed Church in Zeeland, Michigan.
The reception was so much fun! It was held immediately following the ceremony at the City Flats Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ballroom there is simply amazing!
These guys know how to make an entrance!
This here is an awesome idea! So at every wedding you hear the silverware clink against the glasses and plates and that means it’s time for the bride and groom to kiss. Well at this reception that means the guests do to! This box had all the names of the guests. Every time the bride and groom had to kiss they would pull a name from the box – the guest had to do the exact same kiss. Brooke & Jake got creative!
Brooke and Jake – Congratulations! I wish you all the best. I know your future will be full of love, happiness and laughter. Enjoy life!
I want to give a HUGE shout out and a major THANK YOU to Abby from Wierenga Photography. I sent Abby a Facebook message 4 days before the wedding to see if she’d be willing to second shoot. I’m so lucky she was available and willing to help. I would not have been able to do this without her. Abby did more than just second shoot. She gave me some great tips and lots reassurance throughout the day. Abby, thank you for everything. You’re amazing!
P.S. I also want to add that proceeds from their wedding is going towards Pelotonia and life-saving cancer research. Thanks for supporting a great cause! To learn more and if you want to donate check out an earlier post: http://kimroossien.com/2013/01/pelotonia-2013/
